Accommodation & Surroundings
If peace and tranquillity sounds good to you then our bedrooms and living space should be just your cup-of-tea. Our décor is designed on the basis of Feng shui to complement our holistic approach and our seven bedrooms are named after gemstones and crystals.
We have three double bedrooms, two single, one twin and triple room with three single beds. (There is a small supplement for single occupancy of double rooms – see tariff page.)
The bedrooms all have shower en-suites, televisions and tea/coffee facilities. Towelling robes are provided and there are blankets and hot water bottles for that extra cosiness.
You can relax in a quiet lounge, enjoy a coffee in the front porch or make use of our studio with bean- bags, yoga mats, a small library and even an exercise stepper and some hand-weights.
We have a patio and a Zen garden with a seating area, pond and wind chimes to soothe the soul.
There is free parking on our private forecourt for up to eight cars.
The train station is a two minute taxi journey and fifteen minutes if walking. There are regular trains to and from York.
Fountains Court is a short walk from beautiful Peasholm Park with a boating lake and a tree-walk in a small limestone ravine, full of wild flowers, cheeky squirrels and bird-life.
Scarborough’s quiet North Bay with its mile-long sandy beach is a ten minute walk with a number of cafes, a surfers’ bar, gift shops and mini-golf. If the weather is poor there is a cinema and bowling centre close by.
Scarborough is an historic town – dating back to Roman times; it has a medieval harbour and it said to be the first seaside resort in Britain – a spring of natural water was opened to the public in the 1600’s!
If theatre and music is your passion then Scarborough has a thriving WYMC theatre; a Spa Concert Hall and the famous Stephen Joseph Theatre, home to Alan Ayckbourn. Several pubs have live music and there is a cinema just a short walk from Fountains Court.
