Helen Marriott - the owner/founder of Fountains Court together with the receptionists, housekeeping and kitchen staff, the therapists and facilitators all work as a team and passionately believe in the concept of Fountains Court, a place where people come and stay and are never quite the same again. For some the change is subtle for others it is life changing.
About Helen:
In 1993 Helen achieved a Diploma in Holistic Massage with the London Massage Training Institute. This was followed with a certificate in Aromatherapy and then training as a Bach Flower Practitioner. Over the years Helen has undertaken numerous courses in health related modules as part of her continued professional development program, including a trip to China in 1998 to study Traditional Chinese Medicine.
A keen traveler all her life and a Cordon Bleu cook Helen is also a member of Mensa and has recently completed five years of study with the Open University for a degree in The Humanities with Philosophy. She has a busy practice within the hotel and regularly gives talks and seminars for corporate businesses, charities and the local Hospice and is a facilitator for Teeside University’s Post Graduate Nursing Course in Palliative Care.
Fountains Court is also Helen’s home and she is often the first to greet you on your arrival. We should also introduce you to her Lhaso Apso called Badger who believes the reason for anyone coming to the hotel is to visit him personally. His personality is matched only by the size of his ego and he likes nothing better than a warm lap to curl next to. You must be firm in your denial. Helen’s three young adult offspring are mostly ‘in transit’ as they explore the rest of the World but you may on occasion find them in residence.
